PEACE AND OLIVE
Here at the Scovaventi farm the wind blows from the sea.
It is a wind much loved by the people of these parts, in Maremma, because it blows from the south and brings the sailors home.
It is a wind that we also love because it pollinates the olive trees and brings with it aromas and perfumes that make our products unique and special.
It is a wind that brings life and spreads peace: peace with ourselves and with others, peace with the environment and the land, peace with the rhythms of nature and those of man's work.
Peace. A counter-trend choice in these whirlwind times, an almost rebellious act. It is the way of being in the world of those who prefer respect to the exploitation of land and people, sustainability to greed, the common good to that of the individual, the quality of time to the quantity of money.
Peace is also the secret ingredient of each of our products. You can feel it in the oils and honeys, in the aubergines and peppers, in the purees and peeled tomatoes: because peace is a healthy and delicate thing but it can assert itself and be recognized even behind a persistent and fruity aftertaste, even wrapped in a hint of almond and green leaf.
Peace, for those who know how to taste it, is the best flavor in the world.
FROM NURSERY TO COMPANY
The Scovaventi farm was not born as a farm but as a nest, as a refuge from the too noisy times in which we live. It was born from Luca De Filippo and Carolina Rosi, who came here to hole up and regenerate in the breaks between one theater tour and another.
In love with the countryside, gourmet experts, Carolina and Luca slowly begin to restore the farmhouse, improve the soil and prepare preserves with the many products that the garden offers them. At the beginning especially tomatoes whose cultivars, in homage to the origins of the founders, come mainly from Campania and in particular from the Sorrento peninsula.
However, oil is their great passion. A passion that in 2015 led them to acquire other olive groves near the property, in similar terroirs but equipped with other native varieties, in order to allow production no longer limited to family consumption alone, but capable of feeding external distribution. However, in 2015 Luca passed away and Carolina decided to carry on this dream alone.
This is how Scovaventi transforms itself from a private refuge into a farm, maintaining its original imprinting as an oasis of peace and respect for time, places and people.
