O’ CORE ROSSO, Re Umberto peeled tomatoes, is a delicacy deeply linked to family tradition and to the Isca island of Eduardo De Filippo, which inspired many of his masterpieces. This variety is now lovingly grown in our garden in Maremma in honor of the great author: a recipe unique in the world, produced only at Podere Scovaventi.
This tomato variety, also known as Fiascone or Costiera, is characterized by round, smooth fruit, crisp flesh, and a texture that keeps well long after harvest. Peeled tomatoes represent Mediterranean tradition, offering the freshness of summer tomatoes all year round.
The whole tomatoes are hand-harvested at full ripeness, steam-blanched, peeled and jarred, usually just a few hours after harvest, using artisanal methods. The liquid inside is the pure juice naturally released by the tomatoes during pasteurization, ensuring long preservation while retaining all their flavour.
With their sweet taste and deep red color, they are extremely versatile, ideal for sauces, soups, pizza and recipes requiring a full-bodied texture. A touch of simplicity and authenticity to enhance every dish naturally.
